Gray Matters by Constance Jacobson

Illustration // Monday, July 01, 2013
Constance Jacobson is a Boston-based artist and printmaker whose work draws from the practice of medical imaging to explore existential fascinations and fears, focusing on the aesthetic and poetic implications of the scientific process. This fabricated scientific imagery recalls our modern preoccupation with the afflicted or deteriorating brain, as well as our agonizing fear of dementia and its relatively mysterious movement through the human mind. Jacobson's work has been collected by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the New York Public Library, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
