"The Beatles in Comic Strips": A Collection of Comic Book Apperances

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, January 14, 2014
The Beatles are ubiquitous. John Lennon may no longer be with us, but his voice still echoes on radios, CDs, record players, and computers across the globe. It's no wonder that the fab four have made a whole book worth of comic strip appearances, all of which are riddled with beautiful illustrations and imaginative adaptations of the pop music masters.

Pardee's Picks: The Work of Jon Way$hack

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 29, 2012
Much like all of the artists that are featured in the pages of Juxtapoz, it's really hard limiting the number of featured pieces that we showcase. Especially in Jon Way&hak's case, who was featured in our special Halloween issue. His art contains so many details that even showing 30 of his pieces wouldn't fully perform the justice that needs to be served. So therefore, here is a bonus selection of some more of Jon Way$hak's astounding artwork.

Pardee's Pick: The Art of Cody Schibi

Juxtapoz // Monday, September 24, 2012
Two years ago, artist Dave Correia and I, along with filmmaker Stephen Reedy, drove across the USA over the course of a month, stopping in various towns, encouraging anyone and everyone to draw by offering to trade "a sketch for a sketch"

Last week I gushed over a few Japanese Horror Mangas in Part 1 of my "I don't know much about these but I love them" article. Well, not much has changed this week, as I still don't know much about the history and facts about the genre...

Works of Frank Stockton

Juxtapoz // Monday, August 06, 2012
This isn't the first time we have shown the works of Frank Stockton, and it probably won't be the last: "My work evolved very quickly both during school and after I graduated... Since the unifying element in all of my work has been my drawing, it was only a matter of time until I found a way to add color that was exciting to me. After lots of experimentation..."

More Appreciation for Moebius

Juxtapoz // Thursday, June 28, 2012
Going through a few old folders of inspiration this morning, and we were reminded of the great loss we have earlier this year in French illustrator Jean Giraud, aka Moebius. Famous for his work Blueberry and Silver Surfer, as well as his work with Heavy Metal, he had one of the most vivid and expressive imaginations of any artists of his generations. Here is just a selection of classic works...

Black and White Drawings by Moebius

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, March 13, 2012
We don't need to remind you: we lost a legend in Jean Giraud, aka Moebius this past weekend, at the age of 73. The French illustrator was famous and widely known for his work on the comics Blueberry and Silver Surfer, as well as his work with Heavy Metal, but we came across some stunning black and white illustrations this morning that we thought were beautiful in their simplicity.
