Italian artist Laurina Paperina lives in Brooklyn and makes dark, funny, comic paintings depicting imagined scenes from pop culture, and imaginary murders of blue chip artists. In her mind, painting her favorite artists' demise is a compliment—she likes their work so much she wants to kill them!

We Are In Friend Love With Yumi Sakugawa

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, March 12, 2014
“What’s friend-love? It’s that super-awesome bond you share with someone who makes you happy every time you text each other, or meet up for an epic outing. It’s not love-love. You don’t want to swap saliva; you want to swap favorite books. But it’s just as intense and just as amazing.”

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, October 23, 2012
We saw this comic/cartoon this moring on The Joy Of Tech, and to be honest, it isn't so much amazing art wise as it is clever and quite funny. Did you know that Google sees you as a naked harvest, and Facebook just sort of sells you to anything? Actually, you probably did know that.

Among all of the random filing cabinets labeled anywhere from "reference pics of ewoks" to my "Amazon wish list" that are cluttered inside of my brain, there's a specific cabinet labeled "Artists Who I Will Always Look Up To For The Rest of My Life No Matter What". Inside that cabinet is a small list of names, and Gris Grimly is at the top.

Juxtapoz // Saturday, September 22, 2012
Last week I gushed over a few Japanese Horror Mangas in Part 1 of my "I don't know much about these but I love them" article. Well, not much has changed this week, as I still don't know much about the history and facts about the genre...
