The LA Art Book Fair, presented by the good people of Printed Matter, is one of our favorite art events of the year and a chance for us to check the best in independent publishing, whether it be vintage books, new books, zines, collectibles, and other periodicals. Juxtapoz again will have a booth this year, and along with new mags, old mags, and books, we will release two new zines under the Juxtapoz Editions imprint: Sage Vaughn "Vanitas" and Kristin Farr "Magic Hecksagons."

Most "things" in the world are made in China, and by things I mean consumer products. Nothing says consumerism like Christmas, and one had to wonder at some point where all the Xmas decorations come from. Well, 60% of the world's Christmas decorations are made in around 600 factories in Yiwa, China. Don't tell your kids. These aren't elves hard at work.

Yes, it's that time of year again. The time where you get to send direct links to your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, girlfriends, boyfriends, brothers, and sisters to let them know EXACTLY what you want for Christmas and the holidays. The Juxtapoz staff sat down and compiled a list of the things we sent to our respective group of present-givers and wanted to share our personal wants with you. So without further ado, here is the Juxtapoz Holiday Gift Guide.

The Criterion Collection is the argument for owning "things," and by "things" we mean a library of DVDs that act like an art book collection or vinyl LP collection. They make the best films better, take forgotten cult classics and illuminate their importance, and put their carefully edited films in a historical perspective. And now, after years of preserving the concept of film, there is a new "Criterion Designs" book to capture the art behind the archival products.

Boris "DELTA" Tellegen has long been one of our favorirte artists in Europe, unique as both a graffiti writer and fine artist. The Dutch artist is teaming up with the great team at Case Studyo in Belgium for a special new sculpture edition, and as Case told us, "For Boris it made sense to execute this 'toy' robot again in concrete this time, the least child friendly material you can imagine..."

Everyone loves print! Well, we mean, we do, and so do lots of people who love art and all things tangible and art. That is why every year we like to take the trek out to NYC for Printed Matter' ninth annual NY Art Book Fair, from September 26 to 28, 2014, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens. You should go, too.
