Brian Adam Douglas (aka ELBOW-TOE) uses a unique cut paper and collage technique he calls 'paper painting.' Painting individual parts of paper, he carefully cuts them and sticks them to a wooden panel to create the final painting-like composition. "Forgoing the relative ease and fluidly of the brush stroke, the artist methodically builds his compositions through shards of color incised from sheets of paper..."

Se are enjoying this collection of bizare collaged creatures by Australian artist Alexander Ouchtomsky. The works were part of an exhibition at Melbourne's Neon Parc museum as part of a show in 2009.

Mexican artist Alejandrina Herrera creates beautiful scenes on the basis of drawing, collage and watercolor. Telling stories about people, animals, and how they interact with their surroundings, Herrera likes to include a touch of irony and melancholy by playing with the size of things and spaces.

Japanese artist Shinro Ohtake has been collecting and collaging found materials, personal mementos, and a variety of other random but vast array of odds and ends. He exhibited the collection of sixty albums, some almost 700 pages long at the Venice Art Biennale 2013 in a show entitled Encyclopedic Palace.

Former Green Party Vice-Presidential candidate/ former president of the SF Board of Supervisors and good friend of Juxtapoz magazine, Matt Gonzalez, will open a solo show, Things I Didn't Know I Loved at Park Life in San Francisco this Friday, June 28th. Gonzlaez primarily works in collage, and has shown around SF and interviewed various artists that we have covered over the years, including Barry McGee, Andrew Schoultz, Eva Hesse, and most recently in Juxtapoz, an interview with Berkeley-based politcal cartoonist, Guy Colwell.
