Cleon Peterson just completed a large 2-color mural that shows his signature characters acting out in violent scenarios against one another. The artist was recently in London for his exhibition “There is A War” at the Outsiders London Gallery and has now returned to bring his savage imagery to this wall in the L.A. art district.

If you happen to get yourself to London in the month of July, there is a good art show to check out: Cleon Peterson, "There Is A War," at London's The Outsiders. "Cleon Peterson's nightmarish tableaux feature scenes of a barbaric holocaust, where might is right and the weak are merely souls with holes for the strong to torment and abuse. Deviance is the norm, and the displaced individual is forced to navigate this wicked world alone, finding hollow bits of pleasure and meaning in violence, sex, religion and drugs."

Pedro Matos and the Ivory & Black Gallery in London are getting set for a strong group exhibition this June 15, with Juxtapoz stalwarts Andrew Schoultz, Cleon Peterson, James Jean, Ryan Travis Christian, and Richard Colman making up the Gin & Juice show. Good title, we think.

Tonight, March 10 in San Francisco, Guerrero Gallery will open a featured solo show with Cleon Peterson, The Brinksman, and a show with Bill McRight in the project room titled When You Get Power. As Peterson says of this new body of work, it is a "a gray world where law breakers and law enforcers are one in the same; a world where ethics have been abandoned in favor of personal entitlement.” Preview images after the jump . . .
