A look back at the "Coca-Cola mural" by Chris "Freedom" Pape

Street Art // Friday, January 18, 2013
Painted in 1995, the largest and most notable mural painted by artist Chris “Freedom” Pape in an Amtrack tunnel in New York was the "There's No Way Like the American Way" aka "The Coca-Cola Mural.” Over time, Pape had created a number of significant works in this dark location and the name for the tunnel was eventually dubbed “Freedom tunnel.” A majority of the works has since been removed by the buff, but you can still see some remnants where city workers were less ambitious.
