We've been admiring the paintings of Chilean painter Guillermo Garcia-Huidobro Lorca. Guillermo started his artistic training at age 16 with Chilean painter Sergio Montero and after his first solo exhibition in 2007 had the opportunity to spend some time as an apprentice in the studio of the one an only Odd Nerdrum. He currently works in Santiago, Chile preparing for projects all over the world!

Chilean artist Alvaro Tapia Hidalgo is a graphic design, filmmaker, and illustrator whose portrait work we have featured before. Hildalgo's ongoing collaborative illustration project "Angry People" recently caught our eye. Through his Tumblr he asks fans to send in angry pictures of themselves which he then turns into an illustration. Enjoy the series and maybe send in your portrait!

we are enjoying these paintings by Chilean artist Santiago Salvador this morning. Salvador thinks of his work as constructions, finding painting and illustration as "a gateway to the recognizable, the intimate and the ambiguous that surround us."

Macro Co is a Chilean artist who now lives in Buenos Aires amd created this series of surreal black and white illustrations. While trying to create a circular, undefined story , Co takes to a universe of a somber ceremony, where we seem to be watching rituals of a non-world.

Some more stylized, detail-oriented work by Chilean illustrator Jorge Roa. In this series, he renders a variety of hairstyles using some impressively fine linework. Roa studied Industrial Design at the Universidad del Bio-Bio in Chillan. He currently lives in Santiago, Chile.

What colors should our dreams be? If your response were based upon the paintings of Chilean-born painter Victor Castillo, the answer might be "the colors that don't exist". In reality, I know that answer is an oxymoron, but in regards to Victor's lush and haunting paintings, it makes perfect sense.

Our friends at Juxtapoz Latin America just posted about a new mural by Chilean artist Inti done in Lodz, Poland on the occasion of Urban Forms festival. The piece, Holy Warrior, is done in the artist's characteristic "Chilean Andes" style.

Chilean artist Maria Aparico Puentes stitches thread into geometric shapes over photography, an effect that makes the subjects appear to be existing on the borders of another dimension. Speaking on her work, Puentes notes, "I imagine that some of these impressions point me to study Architecture."

Carlos Valenzuela is a professional illustrator and comicbook cover artist from Chile who has worked for several companies in the entertainment field like Fantasy Flight Games, SQP Publishing, Comics Buyer's Guide, Pyranha Bytes, Avatar Press, Ballistic Publishing and Ilex UK. His graphic, black and white erotic illustrations are like perfectly rendered pin-up, gore pulp covers.

Chilean artist Santiago Salvador paints images of tiny, anonymous people often arranged in patterns reminiscent of traditional South American weaving. “I think of my paintings and drawings as constructions. I include recognizable elements in them and others that are not, creating a composition in a way loses a narrative logic, but maintains in itself a friendly and mysterious stability."
