Graffiti // Thursday, March 01, 2012
I’ve seen this picture numerous times, enjoying it more each view. Chaz Bojorquez’s cholo-style graffiti handstyles are continuously graceful and fluid. The photograph was taken in 1975 in the Arroyo Seco River in Los Angeles. The photographer, Gusmano Cesaretti documented much of the personality and culture of East Los Angeles at the time. Classic.

Street Art // Monday, April 11, 2011
We are sitting about 3 steps from the entrance of the Art In the Streets store at Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, and we know there is a special edition MTN Colors can done with Chaz Bojorquez as a special "Art In the Streets" can. If you are going with a special can for the first US museum retrospective of street art and graffiti, you should start with one of the originals. More after the jump . . .
Juxtapoz // Thursday, December 16, 2010
Chaz Bojorquez, a Juxtapoz cover artist in March 2009 and a penultimate legend of the Los Angeles graffiti game (we are talking Orson Welles level), made a video this past Fall with poet Idris Goodwin. Titled "New Mexico Remix," the piece was part of a three-month look at Hip-Hop culture and free speech showcased at a non-profit art space in Albuquerque, called 516 ARTS. Video after the jump . . .
