Last January 2012, we featured UK-based Charming Baker in the magazine, with a wonderful portrait of him with rifle shooting his paintings. This week, Baker will open his largest ever solo exhibition at Milk Studios Los Angeles. Entitled Lie Down I Think I Love You, it will showcase new work exploring the unpredictable nature of love. It will comprise of 20 paintings as well as prints and sculptures. Baker will also unveil a sculptural installation depicting an oversized plastic toy passenger plane.

Charming Baker, the UK artist that was featured in our January 2012 issue, collaborated with famed British fashion designer (he makes a fantastic sunglass, FYI) Paul Smith on Triumph in the Face of Absurdity, a polished cast aluminium bicycle now on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The work was part of Britain Creates 2012: Fashion + Art Collusion, where leading British fashion designers and visual artists collaborate in a ground-breaking series of works commissioned as part of the London 2012 Festival.

Charming Baker, whom we are preparing a feature in the magazine right now, had a sold-out show, Everything Must Go, at Mercer Street Studio in London this past summer, and the UK-artist was kind enough to share his video made during the exhibition. Along with new paintings there was a collection of bronze busts and prints at the show.
