Brooklyn-based Swoon has spent a good deal of her art career working as a socially conscious, charity and project-based philanthropist, and in that time, become one of our all-time favorites. She just launched a Kickstarter for a project we fully back, the Konbit Shelter project in Haiti. Konbit Shelter is building creative, safe, beautiful, and sustainable homes for Haitian families in the continuing aftermath of the earthquake of 2010 and Hurricane Sandy.

There is only one week left to bid on Converse's 3 Artists 1 Wall x Juxtapoz project online at Charity Buzz. Carrying out the collaborative spirit of Converse’s Three Artist, One Song series, Converse teamed up with Juxtapoz Magazine and the Children’s Cancer Association to create 3 Artist 1 Wall, which brought together three artists of varying backgrounds and training to create art pieces that will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to MyMusicRx.

David B. Smith Gallery and Gregory Euclide have teamed up to release Euclide's album cover work for Bon Iver as a limited-edition print, with 50% of net proceeds donated to Agapé Riding Center and the Greater Mankato Area United Way Connecting Kids Program, two non-profit organizations based in South Central Minnesota.

Artist Steven Harrington will be headed out to Tokyo for a solo show at BeamsT, Remain in Balance, featuring 15 new sculptures, 20 new screenprints, and a photo print wall. The exhibition, done in conjunction with The Critical Slide Society and Beams, Harajuku Japan, will have all proceeds of artwork sold donated to tsunami victims.

Taken by the desire to provide encouragement to the victims of the Tohoku-Pacific earthquake, internationally renowned contemporary artist, Takashi Murakami, has asked artists around the world to joinhim in uploading artwork to Twitter’s affiliated image posting sites. As Murakami notes, "The response to this project has already been tremendous, with both drawings and messages of encouragement pouring in."

LA-based graffiti legend and fine artist, SLICK, just released a new print and tee-shirt, both titled "Rebuild Japan," with SLICK x DISSIZIT x SILENT STAGE donating 100% of proceeds from purchasing the prints and tees from SLICK's shop will go to the relief effor in Japan.
