Cats That Look Like Pinup Girls

Erotica // Tuesday, August 19, 2014
Cats that look like pinup girls is a tumblr blog that gives you exactly that: cats that really look like pinup girls. We're particularly fond of some of these more provocative poses. Sometimes you just have to approach 'erotica' from another perspective..

The Cat Show @ White Columns, New York

Juxtapoz // Saturday, June 29, 2013
The Cat Show curated by Rhonda Lieberman at White Columns in New York opened on June 14th and since then has gathered some attention. Critics like Jerry Saltz have been singing praise and the cats have been finding homes. The exhibition essentially functions as a play space filled with stray cats that are up for adoption (or to use the playful puns on White Column's website  a "pussy playground" with "purr-formers").  If you happen to be looking for a cat, or are open to being charmed to the point of adoption, the adoption events have been extended to every Friday and Saturday during gallery hours (12-6 pm) with exception to 4th of July weekend.

Famous Artists and Their Cats

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, April 30, 2013
Well, we should have known. We, or I should say I because I am speaking only for myself, used to think maybe I shoudn't tell the masses that I own a cat, but seeing that Dali, Warhol, Matisse, O'Keefe, Picasso, Kahlo, Weiwei, Klimt, Klee, Gorey and others all loved their cats, I no longer feel ashamed. Its a cat union party up in here. Thank you Flavorwire for grabbing this collection.

Isaac Tin Wei Lin's "Another Dimension" @ Philadelphia International Airport

Street Art // Tuesday, April 02, 2013
Certainly not “Street Art,” but clearly in the public view considering it is on view for all those going and coming from somewhere at the Philadelphia International Airport. Local artist, Isaac T. Lin, has installed a series of peace-sign-slanging-felines, accompanied with framed art and his pattern-filled abstractions set as a background. The project entitled “Another Dimension” is currently on display in Terminal E and 3D glasses supposedly add even more visual enhancement to this particular installation.

The Raid: Claymation w/Cats by Lee Hardcastle

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, May 16, 2012
We don't care if you are tired of cats on the web, because what Lee Hardcastle does is beyond just cats. He recreates films with claymation cats, violence and gore all included. His newest claymation is a remake of the 2011 Indonesian film, The Raid, an extremely violent movie directed by Gareth Evans. But we are here to talk about cats.

Cat Whisperer

Street Art // Tuesday, January 31, 2012
This is possibly one of our most favorite stencils we have seen Paris-based stencil artist, C215 pull off.    Excellent detail and colors.   Cream = Cats Rule Everything Around Me!
