When we think of watch and fashion brand, Nooka, we think of futuristic looking watch faces made for casual outings. Makes sense that Nooka are behind a futuristic statement: a Delorean Taxi now on the streets of NYC. Designer Mike Lubrano wanted to have something that matched the company's futuristic philosophy. Back to the Future it is. 

Last week, we attended the Levi's Vintage Clothing exhibition called "The Biker with Oil and Leather & The Bikeriders" at the flashship store in downtown San Francisco. Featuring 21 painted motorcycle jackets from 13 international artists--many of whom are tattoo artists as well--and documents and photographs from Danny Lyon's "The Bikeriders," the show pays homage to the American biker legacy. Designed by Swiss practice Peter Kunz Architekturm the “Garagenatelier” consists of five concrete cubes embedded into the hillside landscape, only partially being revealed. With glass pains offering distant views from the parked cars, this could be a great place to take a date you intend to make out with!

Brooklyn-based Jonathan Brand is reconstructing a 1969 Mustang Coupe out of paper for his newest exhibition, One Piece at a Time at Hosfelt Gallery in NYC. Brand will reproduces the car in its entirety, right down to the nuts and bolts, displaying it as the individual collected parts, rather than as a single object.

Famed car photographer Ray Gordon was recently out at the Bonneville Salt Flats where he photographed a great series of hot rods being driven and raced in the desert. This writer, having been driven in a hot rod through Southern California with Juxtapoz founder, Robert Williams, has great appreciation of hot rod culture.

If you are going to take 5 minutes on this site today, we recommend checking out this documentary short on Chris Burden's amazing kinectic sculpture/installation piece, Metropolis II. Burden has taken 4 years to build the piece, using 1500 Hot Wheels, and will take the installation to Los Angeles Country Museum of Art (LACMA) this Fall. 

Robert Williams may be proud of us with this one. As you may or may not know, Juxtapoz was founded with a bit of car culture (we even made a book) and car art in our roots, and when we saw this Ferrari Factory Tour, we couldn't help but think that there was nothing more appropriate on the car culture front than this.

It's one thing to work on a motorcycle from recycled materials, it is another to create a character from Alien. The bike was made from spare parts from cars and bicy­cles at a work­shop owned by Roon­gro­jna Sang­wong­pris­arn in Bangkok July 27, 2011.

Estevan Oriol, a contributing photo editor to Juxtapoz, just sent us a new behind the scenes video of him working with Jeri Lee for Old Memories car club's newest chapter welcomed in Australia, headed by Dallas Miles and Ross Churchill with a collection of fine Chevrolets. The cars were looking proper . . .

Gerry Judah is no stranger to creating massive sculptures for iconic cars, it is just that his latest, a 28m tall Jaguar E-Type, is of one of the most famed cars ever released. Impressive stat: the piece was constructed with over half a kilometer of steel tubing. The sculpture was in Sussex, England last weekend.
