California- based artist Lauren DiCioccio uses needle, thread, and cotton muslin to "mummify" newspapers. The newspaper's photographs and portraits are punctured and woven with pockets of color, bringing her own style and life to aspects of each picture. "The dedious handiwork and obsessive care I employ to create my work aims to remind the viewer of these simple but intimate pieces of everyday life and to provoke a pang of nostalgia for the familiar physicality of these objects."

This morning we take a look at the photographic work of Matt Black. Matt Black grew up in a small town located in the vast agricultural areas of Califorina's Central Vallery. Matt's photos are wonderfully composed and both visually intense and emotional, documenting the farming life in rural California and southern Mexico.

Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard dropped high-powered Cyalume glow sticks into Northern California waterfalls and used long exposures to capture the submerged trails in this project entitled Neon Waterfalls. Some of the more complicated shots were created by stringing several of the glow sticks together.

Just a casual tightrope walk by moonlight near Cathedral Peak at Yosemite National Park in California. Dean Potter took the walk, and amazingly, this was shot from over 1 mile away with a Canon 800mm and 2X by Michael Schaefer. Watch the video after the jump . . .

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a bunch of architecture projects that have really caught our eye, and we just found our future home this morning. A new design from the studio ObjecktCreative, The Bridge House, featuring three cubes placed accordingly over a creek. You get nice views from every angle, and you can easily cross over the water at any time by going into your living room.
