The super sweet and super gifted Audrey Kawasaki (Juxtapoz issue #90) has been busily preparing for a special show in Tokyo at Space Yui. Aud will be showing off fresh 10 paintings and drawings in the show opening May 7, which will remain on display through May 16, 2009. Audrey told us that is great to be able to go to Japan and work with a gallery there, as it reminds her of her Japanese ancestry- a part of herself she had not been previously able to embrace in quite the manner that this special showing provides. From what we see above, the environment has been extremely inspiring. Anyone down for an impromptu Tokyo trip?

Audrey’s delicate yet provocative paintings make us feel as though we’ve entered a fantasy world populated by beautiful ladies, layered wings, and friendly insects. It’s wonderful to see such a nice artist evolving so steadily and we cannot wait to see this beauty when it’s finished. More on Audrey Kawasaki at www.audrey-kawasaki.com
