Finally, and most deservedly, Ron English has painted a mural on the famed Bowery and Houston wall, and its a good one. You know the history of the wall by now; Keith Haring, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, and Barry McGee are just a few of the names who have painted the wall, and Ron has added his touch with a Baby Hulk and an American Flag of corporate parodies. Great work Ron!

Swoon in collaboration with the Groundswell Community Mural Project (Misha Tyutyunik and Yana Dimitrova contributing work), has completed her Hurricane Sandy memorial piece at the famed Bowery and Houston wall in Manhattan. This week marks the one-year anniversary of Sandy’s landfall and the subsequent destruction left in the aftermath. The optimistic phrases “People helping people” and “Rise above the challenge” accompany the beautiful collage-style work.

The Bowery Wall in New York has been seeing a lot of paint in the last week. The short-lived 70th birthday wall for Martha Cooper has been followed up by the work of Crash a.k.a. John Matos, who completed the wall in just two days. A very large Popeye can now be seen greeting commuters on Houston and Bowery.

As we mentioned Monday, Lady Aiko had begun work on the famed Bowery and Houston mural wall. The artist started working on the left hand side working her way to the right and thing are looking close to being done. We really enjoy how the work has a real feminine touch to it and has a calm tone to it, unlike the previous artists whose work had graced the wall, who were all men after all.
