As an admirer of Purple Fashion Magazine, we decided to stop by Olivier Zahm's photography exhibit, "The Secrets of Photographing Women," at the fantastic art bookstore and gallery, LeadApron in Los Angeles the other day. Zahm is the Founder and Owner of Purple Magazine.

Alex Pardee has continued to have a busy year, what with Tupac Cats and solo show at Corey Helford Gallery. Now, his newest book, Awful / Resilient, has just been released, featuring 250 illustrations and paintings spread across 172 pages.

Shepard Fairey, known to make an iconic image or few, has created a new cover for the already iconic 1967 Marshall McLuhan and Quentin Fiore book, The Medium is the Massage: An Inventory of Effects. As we see it, Medium remains one of the great, important books to be published on modern culture.

Maurice Sendak is back! One of the greatest children's authors is set to release his first book in 30 years, a book he authored and illustrated titled, "Bumble-Ardy." If that sounds familar, it's because it is based on a character Sendak developed in 1971 for Sesame Street, a short that Jim Henson produced. More information after the jump . . .
