We love when we find an artist we love that connects with a band that we love. So is the case with UK-illustrator, Boneface (featured in our September 2012 issue), as he has illustrated the new Queens of the Stone Age album cover, ...Like Clockwork. Has anyone seen the billboards in LA?

Everything that's right with the action-gore work of Boneface just might be the same things that make him perfectly wrong for any other creative endeavor. We love this work, and loved it so much that we featured it in the newest issue of Juxtapoz, our September 2012 issue. The titles of his humorously brutal illustrations, like 'Actionfu*kers' or 'Over My Dead Body' are so perfectly matched with the bloody, gruesome rendered narratives and comics he creates.

A busy summer it has been all around in the art world, but in our home base of the San Francisco Bay Area, we have had two significant museum retrospectives that have made their way into the September 2012 issue of Juxtapoz. First off, we celebrate our cover story, Daniel Clowes, and his fantastic exhibition at the Oakland Museum of California, Modern Cartoonist: The Art of Daniel Clowes. Over the years, the iconic comic book artist has given us cult-followed works such as Ghost World, Eightball, Wilson, and numerous covers for The New Yorker.
