From the blog Archipel: "Nunzio Paci is an artist living and working in Italy. His whole work deals with the relationship between man and Nature, in particular with animals and plants. The focus of his observation is body with its mutations. The intention is to explore the infinite possibilities of life, in search of a balance between reality and imagination." We love this work, and love how it advances a genre in anatomical works that we have been seeing in recent years. And Bologna continues to be a hotspot for young creatives.

Lara Mezzapelle and Giacomo Deriu live and work between Bologna and Barcelona. Their artistic research, born out of sharing personal and professional artistic careers, explores the new possibilities offered by digital language to develop New Media Art works, such as interactive video installations and installations/sculptures modeled on 3D graphics software and built by laser prototyping.

Italian muralists and collaborators, Blu and Ericailcane, just finished another great collaborative piece in Erica's hometown of Bologna, Italy. Ericailcane, the cover artist of our subscriber cover in March 2010, adds his signature animals while Blu adds a cage and added elements.

We haven't seen much public work from Italian aritsts Blu or Ericailcane since both were in California in the early Fall 2010. Ericailcane was in San Francisco for a solo exhibition at FIFTY24SF, and Blu was in Los Angeles where that thing with the mural for MOCA happened. You may have heard the story. More after the jump . . .
