Banksy "Better Out Than In—The Movie" Trailer

Street Art // Thursday, June 12, 2014
If you remember, Banksy just won the 2014 Webby for Person of the Year, basically because for one month in NYC, he took over the Internet with his brand of social media and street art in "Better Out Than In". We even got flak for calling it an Internet project. Well, we like to thank the Webby Awards for confirming our editorial. Now, Banksy just released a trailer for "Better Out Than In—The Movie," which could just be his acceptance video for the Webby Award, or an upcoming movie. Anyway, its on the Internet.

Watch: Banksy "Artist in Residence" Video for Webby Awards

Juxtapoz // Thursday, May 22, 2014
To accept his 2014 Webby for Person of the Year, Banksy made this video about his Residency in New York City. Whether you loved it, hated it, felt inspired by it reminded us of why street art, graffiti, public art, whatever it is you want to call it, in whatever form you find it, do it, see it, is an important historical identifier of who we are as humans.

Banksy Meat Truck Illustration

Street Art // Monday, April 28, 2014
Remember this one from Banksy's month-long residency on the streets of NYC, "Better Out Than In"? The Meat Truck, aka "Sirens of the Lamb" was probably the best part of the project, featuring a truck that drove around Manhattan with stuffed-animals on their way to the slaughterhouse. Well, in honor, Banksy has a nice drawn illustration of the piece on his site today. Maybe its a slow news day. Maybe we like the drawing. Maybe we miss Anthony Hopkins?

And so you have it, 31 days in October, 31 pieces/moments of art from Banksy, one city that is New York, and now it is over. Banksy "Better Out Than In" Day 22-28 Recap

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 28, 2013
We've almost come to the end now, haven't we? Or at least, we think Banksy's "Better Out Than In" is supposed to finish this month? For the past week, Bansky has gone a bit... well, a little more mellow but with a bit more esoteric styling for his pieces. You got the cement block Sphinx, a sad stencil waiting for the club, a police notification, a Reaper, and a Op-Ed piece the NY Times didn't want to run. Today had a robot. So it goes...

Banksy "Better Out Than In" Day 12—21 Recap

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 21, 2013
Since the last time we posted about Banksy's month long street residency in NYC, Better Out Than In, we have witnessed a few pieces going up in NYC (or at least part of the masses going to see the pieces) and see the backlash of a certain Mayor Bloomberg making his comments about "urban decay." Banksy has given us a confessional, Ronald McDonald's wage reenactment, a Central Park painting sale, a pop-up outdoor show with Os Gemeos under the High Line, and of course, trying to staying Ghetto 4 Life.

Banksy "Better Out Than In" Day 5—11 Recap

Juxtapoz // Friday, October 11, 2013
We are trying to find ways not to post a Banksy story each day during the month of Better Out Than In, and its getting hard. Today is a recap of all that has gone on in the streets of NYC since Saturday, with the special "Reble Rocket Attack" video of Sunday included here. Where to start... lonely hearts in Brooklyn, wandering gardens, signature rats, a political statement on the US military, cheap philosophy, and today, October 11, a meatpacking truck filled with stuffed animals called "The Sirens of the Lambs" that will tour NYC's meatpacking district and then citywide for the next two weeks.

Banksy "Better Out Than In" Days 1—4 Recap

Juxtapoz // Friday, October 04, 2013
As it appears that Banksy will indeed be dropping a new street piece everyday in NYC for the month of October, we are going to start keeping up with the posts each week in a Better Out Than In recap. Unless of course he does the Houston and Bowery wall in the middle of the night, or does something on the Empire State Building...
