This morning we take a look at a series of photographs by Berlin-based, New York City-born photographer Mustafah Abdulaziz. Memory Loss was captured throughout the United States and "explores the social identification and how our ideas of self representation create instances of cultural disconnect."

We love Asger Carlsen, and the universal "What the f@!&" moment everyone has when they first see an Asger Carlsen creation. Interviewed in our January 2013 issue, NYC-based Carlsen has taken his increasingly abstract Hester series to Berlin for an exhibition at Dittrich & Schlechtriem (formerly Pool Gallery). As everything with these works, things are not as they seem, or everything they seem. You decide.

Cyprien Gaillard and the Neon Cleveland Indian http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/cyprien-gaillard-and-the-neon-cleveland-indian http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/cyprien-gaillard-and-the-neon-cleveland-indian Cyprien Gaillard and the Neon Cleveland Indian
Sometimes, the randomness of what icons make it into fine art blow our minds. Yes, the logo and mascot of the Cleveland Indians baseball team is iconic and has a certain vintage Americana design, but we would never thought it would be the basis of a fine art project, or public art project, in Berlin of all places. In 2011, fine artist Cyprien Gaillard placed the 10m tall Neon Indian on the Haus der Statistik at the Alexanderplatz in Berlin, putting it completely out of its baseball context.

We got a little reminder this morning about the amazing wall drawings of Terry Haggerty, and although seeing them online does not do them justice, we compiled a nice grouping of both wall and fine art drawings to showcase the work. The London-born Haggerty lives and works in Berlin, and has shown extensively in Europe and the US, including works that we saw at the HAMMER in LA in 2007.
