This past Friday, January 4, in San Francisco, Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, presented a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit. The exhibition, Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope, is now presenting the donated artwork as part of an online auction on Paddle8 closes on January 22nd at 10am EST.

Last night, we were able to check out the setup of the Chandran Gallery x Juxtapoz Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope exhibition opening tonight only, January 4, in San Francisco. Singapore/San Francisco-based Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, present a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit that features artists from around the country in hopes of creating a meeting place of creativity in the middle of the USA.

We received a nice message today from Takashi Murakami's Kaikai Kiki Co in advance of their benefit auction with Christie's for the victims of Japan’s Tohoku-Pacific Earthquake. The benefit will include artists such as Damien Hirst, KAWS, Jeff Koons, Mr., Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Gabriel Orozco, Aya Takano, Luc Tuymans, and many others.

Kanye West to Play MoMA's Party in the Garden Benefit this Month

This is a two-way street of good decisions: the Museum of Modern Art and Kanye West have teamed up for pop-superstar Mr. West to play perform at their annual Party in the Garden benefit taking place on May 10, 2011 in the MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.
