What's The Time?: Beastie Boys on Being Stupid

Juxtapoz // Thursday, May 02, 2013
We are now officially in Beastie Boys month in conjunction with our very special June 2013 issue, and we kick off the festivities with this fantastic animated treatment of a classic BB's interview from 1985. PBS' Digital Studios took the interview and put it through their "Blank on Blank" series, and the result is the Beastie Boys animated by Patrick Smith, saying things like "There's a way we talk and it includes profanity. We never figured we'd be arrested for it." Enjoy!

Of course, the Beastie Boys played a pivotal role in fronting a cultural fusion of hip-hop, skate, art, film, punk, and activism, and Yauch was at the forefront of socially conscious celebrity.
