Four artists, in a commentary on the economic crisis in Spain, have been placing modled single hands around Barcelona. The project, HANDS, is meant to send a message and raise awareness about the need to alleviate unemployment and poverty. The artists are Octavi Serra, Mateu Targa, Daniel Llugany and Pau Garcia.

The Barcelona based artist Guim Tió Zarraluki creates his abstracted portrait illustrations with a unique method that he has adapted to the majority of his work. By altering fashion magazine images, he creates these oil-pastel covered, strange/beautiful, bug-eyed girls with delicate features and lovely lips that we can't help but admire.

Chamo San is an artist and illustrator residing in Barcelona, Spain. Above all, he is a drawer and photographer, but appreciates every field in the art world. He is a member of Penique productions and has a great little array of erotic sketches in his Moleskin. Hey!! I saw that guy in Barcelona too- HA!

Lara Mezzapelle and Giacomo Deriu live and work between Bologna and Barcelona. Their artistic research, born out of sharing personal and professional artistic careers, explores the new possibilities offered by digital language to develop New Media Art works, such as interactive video installations and installations/sculptures modeled on 3D graphics software and built by laser prototyping.

Miss Van, who just opened a new exhibition at Copro Gallery in Santa Monica, has also released a new print with London's Pictures on Walls, Virgen, that has the print shop saying, "Wow. Well this really came out better than we expected. What’s French for ooh la-la?" The print was made in an edition of 60, signed and numbered by the Toulouse-born, Barcelona-based artist, and 5-color screenprint using fluorescent ink and graphite.

These playfully striped up, and stripped down illustrations are from Chamo, an artist and illustrator based out of Barcelona. He studied Fine Arts at UB (Universitat de Barcelona), Barcelona, and ENSBA (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts) in Paris. He considers himself a drawer and photographer, but is in love with every field of the arts.
