Polish artist Natalia Rak’s work embodies a colorful, almost surrealistic reality. With the use of color she dramatizes her pieces in a clashing obscurity. The fine arts graduate has been passionate about painting from a young age, she explored different techniques and media before she found herself in the rush and freedom of street painting.

If you happened to get around to reading our wonderful August 2015 issue, which we dubbed the environmental issue, you may have come across a feature on the works of UK-based Lucy McLauchlan. She has always been on our radar for her fantastic installations, murals, and fine art works, and now she will be creating a site-specific installation at Fluorescent Smogg in Barcelona, as well as a series of limited editions of comprised of a sculpture, booklet and a linocut print.

Shadows, angles, day, night.... that is the strength of Australian-born, Barcelona-based photographer Dania Shihab. We recently came across Shihab's work while doing some looks into new works by Viviane Sassen, and Shihab has been influenced by her work. A good inspiration to work off of.

The Montana Gallery Barcelona presents "Journey to the Present", an exhibition of Enric Sant, which will be open through 6 December of this year. "Journey into the present" is the first solo exhibition by Sant (Barcelona, 1985), in which the artist presents a unique vision of the world where organic shapes and bodies are the stars of a series of oil paintings and fast ink drawings. The works speak of the desires and fears of the people and their relationship with human-designed environment.

Barcelona collective Penique Productions are known for filling large spaces, both gallery and public, with colored plastic. As if wrapping leftovers with a plastic wrap, Penique covers an entire space in a transformative color, changing the way the viewer sees the space, and simplifying the viewing experience and space to a simple color construction.

Artist and Illustrator Antonella Montes, aka Lantomo, is based in Barcelona but currently living in Beijing. Experimenting with wood of all kinds, she uses the knots and fibers to help tell a story of a sensory world, 'with characters that fluctuate between disappointment, innocence, childness and wickedness.'

Spanish-born photographer Romulo B. Sans splits his time between Barcelona, Havana, and New York. At age 17 he left Barcelona and with his parents' permission, he explored America with one of Stevie Wonder's musicians, who the artist calls "An American hippie my mother had met on a beach in Costa Brava when we were kids."
