News broke last week that NYC-based fashion staple, Supreme, was suing women's fashion line, Married to the Mob, for a copyright infringement based around the logo/graphic "Supreme Bitch." What many in the art world already understood is that Barbara Kruger, now a professor at UCLA and world renowned conceptual artist, was, and we say this gently, robbed of her style by Supreme with their now iconic logo. Kruger would never go on record saying she created the idea of a red box with Futura Bold Oblique look, but, well, she did. This is our cover story with Kruger from November 2010.

The LA Fund and LAUSD have launched a public art project, “Art Matters,” in attempt to support funding for arts education in the Los Angeles school systems. Beginning on August 20, 2012, visitors to the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC can experience the transformative installation by influential and renowned artist (and November 2010 cover artist) Barbara Kruger. “Belief+Doubt” covers the lower-level lobby entry to the museum bookstore, about 6,700 square feet of surface—including walls, floor and escalator sides—covered in text-printed vinyl, surrounding viewers with lettering up to 12 feet high in a high-contrast color scheme that has become Kruger's custom of red, white and black.

If you had 10 hours to spare on a Friday in Miami, then the Art Basel centerpiece fair was where you would go. With Gagosian, Lisson, White Cube, Regen Projects, Blum & Poe, Roberts and Tilton, David Zwirner, Chelm & Read and hundreds of others all with booths at the Miami Convention Center, we took the mega tour.

November 2010 cover artist, and one of the more influential contemporary artists working today, Barbara Kruger just teamed up with Works On Whatever to create this bold beach towel. Even though its winter in most places, we could use a beach towel in Miami right about now.

November 2010 Juxtapoz cover artist and new Twitter profile Barbara Kruger just finished a massive installation at the Schirn in Frankfurt, Germany. Kruger will have her work on display at the Schirn through January 30, 2011. Many pictures after the jump . . .
