Specimens will feature the Jackson Heights, Queens-based artists new body of work, inspired by old boats, city rooftops, the coming environmental apocalypse, and Beatrix Potter.

An icon of Harajuku Kawaii culture and the founder of %6DOKIDOKI, Sebastian Masuda is one of the most recognized figures of cutting-edge Japanese pop culture. In 2009, he created and directed the “Harajuku Kawaii Experience,” a world-tour fashion show and talk show event, drawing more than 40,000 fans to the event in San Francisco. This December in Los Angeles, he will launch the world debut of RUNE BOUTIQUE with MEDICOM TOY.

This September Thinkspace will host the debut U.S. solo show, Homage to Canton, from Scotland based artist Lindsey Carr. The show will be based around Canton, the old trading port in China where various flora and fauna were brought, traded ahd studied by merchants from around the world.

An omnivore with an eye for placement, Rene Gagnon bills himself as a post-graffiti Abstract Expressionist, but really he loves everything. An actual teacher, Gagnon is also a synthesizing student of many contemporary movements with a preponderance of pop, street art, and graffiti, where almost any style could be interesting and employed.
