Thinkspace is pleased to present new work by Los Angeles based artist and illustrator Jolene Lai, opening May 4 2013. Born and raised in Singapore, Lai’s work unveils an empathetic co-mingling of whimsy and melancholy by tenderly excavating the affective landscapes of happiness and heartbreak, history and contemporaneity.

This Saturday, April 6, Thinkspace Gallery will open a new show, Heavenly Creatures, with Australian artist, Meggs. Heavenly Creatures will feature ambitious new works by Meggs ranging from painting, sculpture, and installation. Working across media, the artist will also be creating a large scale thaumatrope as part of the exhibition installation – an antiquated Victorian device used historically to demonstrate the persistence of vision. Thinkspace is excited to present Elegant Universe, featuring new work by Dutch artist Handiedan, opening on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Handiedan creates elaborate three-dimensional collage pieces from a cut and paste method of re-assemblage. Starting with the iconic imagery of the vintage pin-up girl, popularized in the 30’s, the artist creates complex images from a combination of pattern, figurative imagery, and symbol.

Tonight, November 10, at Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, London-based fine artist Chloe Early opens a new body of work, entitled Rainbow Ruins.
