As you have probably noticed by now, Juxtapoz has teamed up with Converse to bring some of our favorite artists to Austin during 2014 SXSW to create installations, performances, and interactive art around the city. Dennis McNett who you may know by the Wolfbat moniker, has been building a ship outside the Yellow Jacket Social Club all week preparing for a Wolfbat happening like none other taking place Saturday, March 15th at 10:15pm. All are welcome to come by, build masks, axes, help, and participate!

With an enthusiastic email off to our editor a few months ago I suggested doing a piece on who I thought was "Work By Land" based somewhere in the North West. A few months later I've come to know the dynamic design team Caleb Owen Everitt and Ryan Rhodes who together make LAND, who are actually based in Austin, Texas. Being a not-so-secrete admirer of LAND I could not have been happier to grab their ear for a brief moment in their hectic schedules.

We are enjoying Austin-based artist Josef Kristoletti's murals this morning. His latest piece, Protein Lite, renders colorful three-dimensional looking prisms and was painted at the first biennial of the south in Panama. The project invites artists to "use street art and public interventions for the promotion of contemporary art in the urban culture and public environment of the central American region."
Juxtapoz // Thursday, January 10, 2013
Over the past year, Juxtapoz and Converse have teamed on a unique project, Wall to Wall, where we invite an artist in a city in North America to create a semi-permanent mural based around the artist's interpretation of the iconic Converse star. Today, we look back on the mural created in Austin, Texas by artist Josh Row. Row opted for a colorful, multi-charactered, text-based mural, featuring perhaps the most street cred worthy giraffe we have ever seen.
