Only a few days remain to check out the 2nd Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational at Spoke Art in San Francisco. What is a 2nd Annual Supersonic Electronic Invitational you may ask? Curator Zach Tutor has compiled a group of 32 contemporary artists, including Audrey Kawasaki, Erik Jones, Joao Ruas, Soey Milk, Conrad Roset who blur "the lines between multitudes of genres into a single, pluralistic whole."

The Los Angeles-based artist closes out her successful 2012 year (including being our January 2012 cover) with two "pint" size print releases for the images Deep Waters and Possessed. Deep Waters, seen above, will be available Saturday, December 15, and in an edition of 200. Possessed will be released on Sunday, December 16 as a timed-edition release.

Our friends at Boing Boing just posted an exclusive preview of January 2012 cover artist, Audrey Kawasaki's Midnight Reverie exhibition opening at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC on September 8, 2012. Audrey said of the work, "Some of the pieces have windows, like passage-ways into another world, yet it can also feel like limbo or static—wanting to walk through to the other side, but not being able to. The themes in Audrey Kawasaki's work are contradictions within themselves. Her work is both innocent and erotic. Each subject is attractive yet disturbing. Audrey's precise technical style is at once influenced by both manga comics and Art Nouveau. Her sharp graphic imagery is combined with the natural grain of the wood panels she paints on, bringing an unexpected warmth to enigmatic subject matter.
