Last night, we were able to check out the setup of the Chandran Gallery x Juxtapoz Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope exhibition opening tonight only, January 4, in San Francisco. Singapore/San Francisco-based Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, present a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit that features artists from around the country in hopes of creating a meeting place of creativity in the middle of the USA.

We got a little sneak peek into Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope, the special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit that Juxtapoz is helping sponsor in collaboration with Chandran Gallery in San Francisco. The artists organizing the event, Monica Canilao and friends, are Bay Area based artists who have since moved and started a residency program in Detroit to bring together fellow artists from around the country to have a meeting place for collaborative projects and creative development.

Our good friends at Power House Productions in Detroit, whom we worked with during our 15th Anniversary fundraiser in 2009-10, is putting on a skateboard art exhibition fundraiser, Good Wood, for the Ride It Sculpture Park that is going in the neighborhood close to where Juxtapoz bought houses in 2009. The online bidding auction began on May 19, and the art show that coincides with the auction begins on May 26 in Detroit.

Film makers Kirk Dianda recently collaborated with Amber B in making Japanther's latest stop-moton music video for "Come Back Home," and the animation cels from it are for sale on eBay—which ends Tuesday, May 2. All the art cel proceeds go to Mentalpod.com, a free podcast out of LA that deals with mental health, so click here to purchase original Japanther artwork used in production.

Doyle New York auction house hosts a special preview this Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in anticipation of next week's "Young Artists/Young Collectors" art auction May 9. The entire auction will be on display this week for fans and prospective buyers alike to admire and co-mingle among a wide range of paintings and sculpture from around the world by some of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries' most prominent artists.
