Well, we should have known. We, or I should say I because I am speaking only for myself, used to think maybe I shoudn't tell the masses that I own a cat, but seeing that Dali, Warhol, Matisse, O'Keefe, Picasso, Kahlo, Weiwei, Klimt, Klee, Gorey and others all loved their cats, I no longer feel ashamed. Brian Holderman is a Pittsburgh-based graphic artist and painter known for creating a vividly colored cartoon world of poison, mis-happenings, and temptation. His work has been exhibited throughout the US, including the Andy Warhol Museum and the Mattress Factory.

Andy Denzler has taken the long since dead medium of video tape and injected it with a shot of creativity and imagination. Heavily influenced by Andy Warhol's screen tests of the 1960‘s and Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Hovering and shifting constantly between abstraction and figuration, his work reinterprets the way both painting and video can be brought together.

We are getting to that time of the summer, where London gets a sporting focus for a few weeks, much to the chagrin of locals who probably get enough tourism as it is. But the arts programs and curation at some of London's top private galleries and public institutions have been spot on all year, and Gagosian Gallery has got into spirit with Warhol and Basquiat's 1985 collaboration, Olympic Rings.

This past weekend we stopped by the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills for the opening reception of The Floor Show. group exhibition of floor-based sculpture organized in collaboration with curator Richard D. Marshall. The Floor Show explores the variety of ways contemporary artists have expanded the possibility of the sculptural medium by removing it from the once-compulsory pedestal. On view at Proud Chelsea in London is The Factory: Warhol and His Circle by David McCabe. The show reveals the year between 1964 and 1965 during which Warhol approached David McCabe to document life at the Factory.
