When we first met Andy Mueller, he was a photographer with this little side-project clothing line, The Quiet Life, and it sat, well, quietly in the background. Today, The Quiet Life has grown into a full-force brand with a wide array of apparel and accessories that reflect not only Andy’s history in skate and design but fine art as well.

Last week we attend the opening of “Gig” a group exhibition of gig posters based on the artists ideal fantasy gig for musicians through out the history of Warner Bros. Records. The exhibition was curated by Michael Coleman, Norman Wonderly, Frank Maddocks and Michael Nunez, featuring works by Aiko, Hydro74, Jesse LeDoux, Andy Mueller, Jermaine Rogers, Justin Van Noy, and countless others.

If you’ve heard of skateboarding, you’ve probably heard of Andy Mueller, a self-taught graphic designer who has worked with the likes of Girl Skateboards, Lakai and Chocolate Skateboards. He later founded his own Design studio, OhioGirl, and clothing line, The Quiet Life.  Mueller’s work has progressed to include photography, and his keen eye and passion for the sport has enabled him to take skateboarding photography to new heights. Andy Mueller sent us a link to info about his photography solo show that is about to open in Tokyo. The show is called Point + Shoot and consists of about 100 photos taken between 1994-2007. The show focuses on six ongoing bodies of his photo work. The gallery is also releasing a 20 boxed sets of original prints of his which will be available at the show. The Quiet Life just released their "Camera Club Book vol. 2", a 92-page, full-color, perfect-bound, softback art book / magazine featuring photography by members of "The Quiet Life Camera Club". The Camera Club was started by Girl Skateboards' Andy Mueller, with Jennifer Pitt and Kevin Fernley because they love photography. They wanted to create a place online where photographers from around the world, of all levels, could submit their own favorite photos to become an instant member of the Club.
