Yesterday morning, fresh off a red-eye from San Francisco, we headed to the preview of the Pulse Contemporary Art Fair New York. Full of strong rosters of international artists and galleries, the highlights included Geoff McFetridge at Cooper Cole, Rena Bransten's booth, Narwhal Projects, Porter Contemporary, and some very colorful works by David LaChapelle.

Last week, March 2012 cover artist Andrew Schoultz and former Juxtapoz featured artist and Detroit project artist, Richard Colman, opened the exhibition, To Be Announced at Copenhagen's V1 Gallery. As we see in the photos, both Colman and Schoultz created site-specific murals and installations to accompany their bodies of work.

This past Saturday night in Santa Monica, Copro Gallery opened a special exhibition, Juxtapoz Turns 18, a retrospective and collection of artworks and artists who have helped shape our publication over nearly two decades. Hundreds upon hundreds of artists and gallery-goers made it out to the opening, enjoying a look at what has made the magazine a leading voice in underground and contemporary art for 20 years.

In a weird way, this issue began on the shores of Norway and ended in a desert in Tucson, Arizona, and found itself in the SFMoMA and in a studio in Miami, Florida. An ambitious project involving numerous international contemporary artists and disused Military airplanes is set to make it’s debut on January 28th at the Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.  The Boneyard Project: Return Trip will include artists Andrew Schoultz, How & Nosm, Nunca, Retna, and Faile who will all paint their own individual airplanes, along with cockpit from Saner.  We took a trip to the desert to get you these exclusive preview photos.
