This Saturday, September 12th, 2015 former Juxtapoz cover artist Andrew Schoultz will be opening a brand new exhibition, "Cyclical Nature," at Mark Moore Gallery in Los Angeles. Inspired by the recurrent nature of war and histories bound to repeat themselves, Schoultz’s latest exhibition toggles between his signature frenetic imagery and a new stark minimalism reminiscent of various art historical conventions – though both illustrate a topical, dystopian vision.

We have been working with a few Andy Warhol projects over the past month, and we were happy to see this go up on Paddle8's auction site today: The Andy Warhol Foundation is proud to present this auction which includes original artwork inspired by Warhol’s work created by ten renowned artists (all artists who have been in Juxtapoz over the past year or two as well). Proceeds will benefit NURTUREart, a non-profit institute dedicated to nurturing new contemporary art by providing exhibition opportunities and resources for emerging artists, curators and public school students.

Excited for this one: our good friend Andrew Schoultz's first solo exhibition at Hosfelt Gallery transforms 7,000 square feet of gallery space with an installation of sculpture, paintings and works on paper that charts a new trajectory in his work. After showcasing a new direction with his show at Ruttowski in Cologne earlier this Fall, we can't wait to see the (partial) homecoming of the now LA-based Schoultz.

We stopped by Miami Project last night for their opening, and ran into a bunch of old friends along the way. Most importantly, we saw some great works in the Joshua Liner booth with Geoff McFetridge, Andrew Schoultz, Sam Friedman and Evan Hecox, Eleanor Harwood's booth with Paul Wackers, Driscoll Babcock's booth with Jenny Morgan, and some great new works from Greg "SP.One" Lamarche.

We were very excited when Andrew Schoultz sent us a preview of his new work for "Broken Order," opening at Ruttkowski Gallery in Cologne, Germany on October 10. The direction he has taken his familiar visual language is intriguing, and although we haven't seen the sculptures and installation that will be accompanying the paintings, but if they are anything like these paintings, they will be showstoppers. We have worked with Andrew in the past on numerous projects, whether at SXSW or Art Basel, and have seen his work grow after standout shows at the Monterey Museum of Art and SFMoMA. This show looks to be one of his best.

Today, August 27th, at 12:00pm PST, Andrew Schoultz will be releasing a limited edition screen print in collaboration with Berlin-based print shop Draw A Line. The DRAW A LINE edition ‘Last Hand’ can be interpreted as nature’s final warning to mankind in a world of environmental crisis and an ongoing depletion of natural resources. Schoultz works with a method of layering his recurring motifs. Win one of the prints after the jump!
