Grannan is renowned for her remarkable and intimate portraits of strangers, most of whom are somehow living on the fringes of society.

Here and Now showcases Scott’s latest work which plays off of his graphic style of intricate typographic woodworks, colorful patterning and found object re-appropriation. In this collection the artist takes inspiration from recent events in his life that have resulted in larger shifts or change happening around him. The work is aimed to highlight these situations in varying degrees – from coping with the unforeseen, to recognizing the opportunities from what is available.

Jonathan LeVine Gallery is pleased to present Yer So Bad, a series of new works by Amsterdam-based, Dutch artist Parra, in what will be his second solo exhibition at the gallery. Amsterdam-based artist Handiedan creates elaborate three-dimensional collage pieces from a cut and paste method of re-assemblage. Starting with the iconic imagery of the vintage pin-up girl, popularized in the 30’s, the artist creates complex images from a combination of pattern, figurative imagery, and symbol.

Through 14 September, EYE presents a major exhibition focusing on director David Cronenberg, who acquired cult status with his idiosyncratic films about the relationship between body, mind, technology and mass media. The exhibition explores Cronenberg’s world through the main themes of his films: the physical and psychological transformation of his protagonists.

After Paris and Copenhagen, a third wall dedicated to Tahiti in collaboration with the ONO'U festival has been created in Amsterdam. The European graffiti writer, Besok painted this themed wall to celebrate the Polynesian culture and Tahitian way of life. Besok is part of the great line up of renowned artists that have been invited to the ONO'U festival in Tahiti in May.

Based on aerial views from Google Earth, Chinese artist Lu Xinjian creates abstract paintings of major cities across the world in his series City DNA. What appears to be a mess of abstract shapes and colors, soon becomes a coherent view of the subject city, allowing the city's nuances and unique characteristics to shine through.
