A few weeks ago, Greek artists, Alexandros Vasmoulakis and b, invited an all-star cast of artists to participate in a group exhibition entitled “Intermission” held in an industrial building in Greece. In order to redefine the nature of events that have led this planet to it’s current condition, artists Paul Insect, Bast, Rostarr and Saber, literally took an “Intermission” from current sociopolitical issues to offer new perspectives for an optimistic future. The exhibition featured all new works from each of the artists, displaying a eclectic mix of distinct, refined aesthetics.

LeBasse Projects has announced a new exhibition with multi-disciplinary artist Alexandros Vasmoulakis. The exhibition will feature the muralist and installation artist's new series, Figures, comprised of compelling figural work partly inspired by the tradition of portraiture.

Today, we announce our February 2013 issue, featuring our old friend James Jean, who is set to open a new body of work at Jack Tilton Gallery in NYC on January 9, 2013. February 2013 also features our very special (and limited edition cover, more on that tomorrow) project with famed artist Matthew Barney and skateboard legend Lance Mountain. We document Mountain's ride on a Barney-designed skate deck (part of the Drawing Restraint 19 series), at the Ride It Sculpture Park in Detroit as part of Juxtapoz ongoing collaboration with Power House Productions.

Part of their ongoing series “Pseudo-Advertising Series”, Paris Koutsikos and Alexandros Vasmoulakis, have created this newest mural in Tel Aviv, Israel titled “Brilliant.” This artist included 10 kilograms of sequin into the lettering to give it that shimmering, “Hey look over here!” effect.

Ever since we profiled Greek artist Alexandros Vasmoulakis in the magazine, people have been telling us that they really like the work. We were caught by how grand his building-sized pieces were, part of that great generation of European street artists who are really capturing size and scale. Alexandros just created a fantastic short video, "Study For a Riot," based on the recent riots in Athens and the rest of Greece. Video after the jump . . .
