Philadelphia artist Isaac Tin Wei Lin makes prints, sculptures, and installations that explode with layers of calligraphy, cartoons, color, and pattern. Alex Lukas, Chicago-based and Boston-born, creates both highly detailed drawings and intricate zines and has released over 40 small books and zines since 2001.

Philadelphia-based artist Alex Lukas recently released a great looking new ‘zine entiled, "RTMA." The 72 page ‘zine was printed with several different processes including screen printing, photocopying, diazotype and offset pages and cover. Alex's was one of our favorite contributions to our feature on 'zine culture in the July 2013 issue of the magazine. "'Zines from twenty years ago are still interesting and relevant, unlike a tweet from twenty minutes ago."

We are huge fans of Philadelphia-based fine artist Alex Lukas, and his feature in the March 2011 issue was on of our favorites of that calendar year. Lukas, who has always had aa unique process with his work, just released an 8-color offset lithograph, made with Amanda D’Amico at The Borowsky Center for Publication Arts in Philadelphia. And, Lukas documented the making of the print, which illuminates some of Lukas' unique style and process.

Images of tunnels, cities, and buildings seem eerily familiar, and yet totally abandoned. We see New York City submerged under water in incredible detail, as he paints over screen printed images of the city...
