Comic Con 2012: Sights & Sounds

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, July 17, 2012
Needless to say, Comic-Con brings out a unique group of people. People who leave their homes dressed in painstakingly created costumes without fear of embarrassment, people who covet and swoon the latest toy releases well beyond their childhood years, and those who wish to talk about subject matter usually restricted to Internet message boards (and maybe your mother's basement). But, we love it.

Juxtapoz // Monday, June 25, 2012
Wayne White has been one of our favorites for years, and just after featuring him in our June 2012 issue, we were very excited to see that White was going to create artwork specifically to introduce our Adult Swim content in the July 2012 special Adult Swim issue. And because we are in a giving mood, we wanted to share White's painting with you today...

Olek for "Delocated" in the July Juxtapoz Adult Swim Issue

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, June 19, 2012
As part of our Adult Swim issue, we had the chance to create special collaborations with various artists around the themes of the Adult Swim programs. When it came to "Delocated,"with the concept of the family who testified against the Russian Mafia and has been uprooted to start living undercover through the witness protection program, why not have Olek and her guerrilla knitting work create some masks for full undercover looks?

Adult Swim Issue: Skinner for "Metalocalypse"

Juxtapoz // Thursday, June 14, 2012
On the occasion of Metalocalypse being featured in Juxtapoz' special July 2012 Adult Swim Issue, one of the most visually death metal people we could think of, Sacramento-based Skinner, created a perfect summation of the program with an intense triptych painting based on the show's characters. If you buy the issue, you will treasure it forever.

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 13, 2012
We couldn't do an entire issue with Adult Swim without at least acknowledging the genius that was/is "Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" In order to properly honor the show, artist Tim Biskup created this painting inspired by one of the funniest shows ever. If you haven't picked up the Adult Swim x Juxtapoz July 2012 issue, what are you doing?

Adult Swim x Juxtapoz: Kevin Kirkpatrick's Bust of Carl from Aqua Teen

Juxtapoz // Monday, June 11, 2012
One of the best parts about teaming up with Adult Swim on our very special July 2012 issue are the collaborations that came out of the months of work. One of our favorites was Kevin Kirkpatrick's amazing bust of Carl Brutananadilewski from Aqua Teen Hunger Force (aka, Aqua Something You Know Whatever). Remember, Kevin did the amazing Beavis and Butthead busts that were all over the web earlier this year...

Superjail! is an incredibe American animated television series created by Christy Karacas on Adult Swim. It that takes place in an unusual prison, characterized by psychedelic shifts in setting and plot and extreme graphic violence, depicted through highly elaborate animated sequences, which have been described as "baroque and complicated and hard to take in at a single viewing".
