Fine and tattoo artist, Scott Campbell, opens a new solo exhibition today, January 13, at Gallery Reis in Singapore titled Paved With Good Intentions. As the gallery notes, "Campbell expands his use of cut currency, sourcing uncut sheets of US dollars directly from the United States Mint, to create large, intricate work with a sunken relief effect."

One of our favorite portraits ever shot in Juxtapoz was Viktor Vauthier's shot of Londons' Word To Mother. That said, we have followed Vauthier blog ever since, and he has a great series of shots inside the Kidsloveink EAST Tattoo Shop in London that we wanted to post today. So we did.

A few years back, we featured the work of tattoo and fine artist Chris Conn Askew in the magazine (he did a great shirt for us too, sold out though). Conn Askew will be opening a body of new work at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 12, called 96 Tears.

This should be an interesting film: Skin, where director Ryan Hope has made a stylistic production to examine tattoo art and culture as "high art." The film "tests the boundaries of art and the human body," and gathers interviews with Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons and Raymond Pettibon about to look at the evolving genre.

Art is Forever is a project by cultural creative, Jason Sturgill, which attempts to foster a more meaningful connection between the art museum and its visitors. Several Portland artists have been selected and given the opportunity to create illustrations inspired by their visits to the Portland Art Museum.

Dr Lakra, cover artist of our August 2010 issue, will be having a museum exhibition at the Museo de la Ciudad de México in Mexico City beginning December 7, 2011. After a museum retrospective at the Boston ICA in the summer of 2010, the critically acclaimed artist will be showcasing works never-before-seen in Mexico City.
