We were trying to figure out the best way to kick off our coverage of Nuart 2014, as there has been a ton of progress in anticipation of the opening on September 6. Murals are getting finished, installations completed, but most importantly, we want to kick off by showing the epic 150m long supply ship that M-City painted... that has since been sent back out into the Norwegian seas.

July 2014 cover artist Shepard Fairey is on a bit of a world tour right now, doing murals like U2 does stadium shows. Last week, he finished a new mural at 161 Bowery on the Lower East Side in Manhattan, titled "We Own the Future." Shepard and his team got it done in 3 days, and our new NYC photographer, Joe Russo, captured the process.

Carnage NYC has released their newest title Banksy in New York by writer and photographer Ray Mock. The 120-page book documents the month-long project or “residency” as the elusive UK artist called it that took place in New York in October of 2013. Banksy in New York offers a first-hand account of his residency: the defacement and removal of his pieces, reactions from neighbors and building owners and interactions between Banksy’s fans and foes.

Continuing our coverage from the fifth annual Living Walls Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, we catch up on a number of artist’s working on their murals, with some ambitious participants taking on a second wall. Over the last few days many of the artists have been working directly in the stifling sun with no shade, but each have found ways to combat the heat (Most successfully being Fintan Magee regularly running through playground sprinklers!).

Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans is a ground-breaking street art project created by PangeaSeed to bring the beauty and the plight of the world’s oceans into streets around the globe. On our first day in Atlanta for the Living Walls Conference we did what we always do, hit the streets to see what all the artists are working on. We started by riding a bike around to check everything out, but quickly abandoned the sweltering humidity combined with a whole lot of sweat and jumped at the opportunity to ride in a nice air-conditioned automobile to scope everything (Thanks Ben!).
