Since meeting Andreco during Nuart 2014, he has fast become one of our favorite street and public artists. The balance of interventions, performance, environmentally-focused art with just purely beautiful aesthetics makes the Italian artist one of our favorites (and soon to be featured in an upcoming issue). On New Year's Eve a few weeks ago, in Bologna, Italy, Andreco and friends staged "Flags Up and Tongues Sticked Out," a performance piece, with each friend asked to "paint one side of a flag and burn it with the burning sculpture Vecchione in the main square of Bologna for The New Year Eve."

A couple of friends of Juxtapoz collaborating on this show. Henrik Haven, who is based in Copenhagen and has contributed to both the print and web editions of Juxtapoz, has co-curated with Olly Walker on a special show at Urban Nation in Berlin called "Cut It Out," a look into the "art of the stencil and features brand new works, equipment, tools and stencils by each artist." The show opens on January 31, 2015!

We got to spend some time with Spanish artist Borondo while at Nuart this past year, and loved his painterly style that ended up becoming multi-storied murals. Beautiful, intense stuff. The artist will open his largeest solo show to date, "Animal," at Londonewcastle Project Space in Shoreditch, London, on February 5. We got a little teaser video to show you today...

If you are a regular reader of Juxtapoz.com, you probably know that we often don't get the chance to write about art auctions on our site. But the editors here are constantly checking what is happening on the auction scene, and we really like some of the Lots that are up for bidding on the Artnet Urban Art Auction that is live through December 18, 2014.

Zio Ziegler just painted a massive wall in Oakland on the corner of 17th and Webster streets in conjunction with his solo exhibition, Intuitivism, which opened at LeQuiVive Gallery this Saturday, November 15. The artist explains his visual language and intentions: "I've often been asked what my symbols mean in relation to one another, and while I hint at their meanings with a reference in a title, those meanings are as ephemeral as the process itself...

We have been huge fans of Elbow-Toe for years, with both his street work and recent fine art output being some really standout bodies of work. Through November 2, 2014, the artist has a show up at R. Jampol Projects, "Liner Notes," featuring and expanding upon Elbow-Toe's sketchbook works.

Banksy has dropped a few new pieces over the past weeks, and we really like this "Girl with a Pierced Eardrum" work that was put up in Bristol, England found near the city's harbor. The piece is obviously an ode and update to the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, which if you remember was the subject of a Scarlett Johansson-starring movie. We just wanted Banksy and Scarlett in the same post, and we achieved our goal.

MOMO has been one of our favorite muralists in recent years, and we love the abstraction he has brought into the gallery and out onto walls. He just opened a new body of work, "There Are No Wheels in Nature," at Winterlong Galerie in Niort, France. For the show, MOMO created canvases, drawings, did a mural, an installation, a video, and a zine. Take a look at how the mural and installation shots came out...
