Opening Photos from “Faile: A Decade of Prints & Originals”

The good folks over at HypeBeast attended and photographed Faile‘s, “A Decade of Prints & Originals” at Post No Bills in Los Angeles over the weekend.  The retrospective showcased a decade’s worth of archived works on paper, limited edition prints and hand painted originals.  From the photographs, there appears to be large amount of work on display and we can’t wait to see it in person.  The exhibition runs through July 24, 2011.

Goorin Brothers Chicago Mural Video w/ Pose, Steel, Reyes and Richard Colman

Goorin Bros gathered a group of Juxtapoz alumni in Pose, Steel, Reyes, and Richard Colman in Chicago's Wicker Park District to create a mural featuring a bunch of old imagery from past Goorin catalogs. KC Ortiz of We Are Supervision was at the helm for the video's production.

Paper Airplane Intervention by Mexico's Said Dokins

Said Dokins created this entire paper airplane street intervention, involving multiple buildings and a city square, in Mexico City. The work is based, according to Dokins, on the "Mexican government's lies in relation to the death of the Secretary of State in a supposed air accident."

Gimpo Art Hall

  Seoul architects G.Lab*, of Gansam Partners, proposed the following designs for an art hall in Gimpo, South Korea.  Gimpo’s Art Hall design is inspired by the image of a tree, reflecting the regions long agricultural history.

San and Escif are in San Francisco for their show opening Thursday titled “See You at Croatan” at Fifty24SF.  The duo dropped a new mural on the side of Oak Fair Market for bikers commuting through “The Wiggle” and motorists rushing to get on the bridge home.

Sidewalk Pod Home

Twenty four -year old architect, Dia Haifei built an egg–shaped pod on the sidewalk to evade Beijing’s extreme rent prices. Haifei was inspired to design and build the structure after seeing a conceptual project named “City’s Egg” which was held at the Shanghai Biennale Exhibition. Using bamboo as the frame and wood chips for insulation, one can sleep warm through the night. The egg-house uses a small solar panel to power a lamp and a handful of other electrical necessities inside, making it functional and livable.

Tonight in Los Angeles, “Faile: A Decade of Prints & Originals” opens at Post No Bills Gallery.  The show will be a retrospective showcasing a decade’s worth of archived works on paper, limited edition prints and hand painted originals.  Faile will be releasing exclusive prints produced on site at Post No Bills.  The exhibition runs through July 24, 2011.
