Os Gemeos Preview Photos For Museu Vale

The Brazilian twins or the hardest working twins, Os Gemeos posted some preview photos from their show opening later this month at Museu Vale.  This solo exhibition will feature entirely new work and the artists will occupy the museum for the entire month of October.  Show opens October 28th in Vila Velha, Brazil.

The intervention consists of a video projection displaying an over-sized eye onto the lower surface of the 10-storey-hight Milton Street water tower in Brooklyn, New York.

Maya Hayuk Grant Recipient

Brooklyn-based artist, Maya Hayuk recently received the Wet Paint Grant, supplying her with a year worth of art equipment.  Beautiful/Decay Magazine provided the Grant to the artist in conjunction with Canson and Royal Talens art supply brands.  Maya’s is a multi-talented artist who works in a variety of mediums. Wondering the streets of Brooklyn, chanced are you will likely stumble across one of Maya’s vibrant murals, adding some color to your day.

DMV at Crimes of Minds

The DMV (Da Mental Vaporz) crew collaborated in painting this large mural for the French urban art event, Crimes of Minds.  The roll call of contributors includes Avec Dran, Bom K, Sowat, Kan, Brusk, Bio, and Gris Et Jaw.  Europe’s continued support for public art and events is refreshing, contrary to the city-funded censorship the art community in Los Angeles is currently facing.

NEW CORNUCOPIA AND THE BIG IOU

"IOU/USA is a temporary public monument for Memorial Hill Park designed by artist John Salvest. Towering over visitors at a height of almost seven stories, IOU/USA is comprised of 105 multi-colored steel shipping containers, stacked seven high and fifteen across."  Located in Kansas City, designed to reflect upon the current state of affairs, while resisting didacticism and an easy read along party lines.
