After a significant amount of time remaining rather quite, we are happy to see Aryz is back gracing walls with his unique work.  He is currently in Richmond, Va for the G40 Art Summit and completed this wall of fruits and veggies, which is appropriately located right next to the local farmers market.  This wall is different from the artists usual character based work and we love it.

Grass Carpeted Streets

In attempt to connect the small French village of Jaujac to it’s vibrant natural surroundings, artist Gaelle Villedary installed 1400 feet of grass snaking through the city streets.  The city was also celebrating its 10th anniversary of their arts and nature program.  The installation was made of 168-lawn turf rolls laid over ¼ mile distance.

The G40 Art Summit has taken off in full force with numerous artists descending on and painting massive walls around Richmond, Va.   Italian street artist, Pixel Pancho, completed his second mural that is a hybrid-mutation of robot, various living creatures, and inanimate objects.  Other artists participating include 2501, Angry Woebots, Aryz, El Mac, Gaia, How & Nosm, Jaz, Jesse Smith, La Pandilla, Lelo, London Police, Pixel Pancho, ROA, and Scribe.

The Simpsons in Chernobyl

A muralist by the name Combo created a very appropriate Simpsons family portrait power plant scene inside a building at the Chernobyl disaster sight.  The artists also created a power plant landscape mural as well.  Click to see the other mural!

Multi-disciplinary, Copenhagen-based artist, Peter Land, primarily works in video installations, but will occasionally create some wonderful public work as seen in the following selection of photographs.  The artist has exhibited extensively through Europe as well showed as in the U.S. and has been included in a number of selected publications.

Aesop Rock’s newest album titled “Skelethon” has a wonderfully painted cover by one of our favorite of street artists, Aryz.  Over the years Aesop Rock has chosen a range of talented folks to grace his album cover, but his has to be the best yet.  Be on the lookout for “Skelethon” coming out soon.

How and Nosm's "This Side of Paradise" Installation Photos and Video

These photographs of How and Nosm’s installation in The Andrew Freedman Home is saying alot, as in “They killed it.”   “This side of Paradise” is a project inviting numerous artists to create site-specific work to revitalize an old welfare hotel located in the Bronx and is also the title of famed author F. Scott Fitzgerald’s first novel.    Artists included are Bruce Richards, Daze, Crash, Cheryl Pope among many others.  The space is open to the public and can viewed through June 5th, 2012.

The streets of Barcelona are littered with grinning sneaky fish, popping out in the strangest of places.  The artist responsible for these humorous little guys goes by the name Pez and is currently in London for an upcoming show at Tony’s gallery titled “Smiling Since 1999? that will open on April 6th.  He has managed to paint the following walls around town and more.
