Based out of New York City, Marcelo Daldoce, is a full-time artist that believes art making is a calling, study, leisure, therapy, and pleasure. Self-taught starting at the age of 16, he pursued painting throughout his studies landing him numerous group and focused exhibitions. Transforming the traditional painting, Daldoce creates a fine line between illusion and reality, slicing figures with geometric folds and patterns that jolt the conventional two-dimensional perspective. Each piece eccentrically focuses the eye so well it’s mesmerizing how precise his folded paintings bring a flat surface to life.
