Illustration // Thursday, January 19, 2012
This lost and forgotten version of "The Hobbit," animated by legend Gene Deitch and illustrated by Adolf Born, is a charming and frenzied 12-minute version of the feature-length animated movie Deitch had intended to create with Czech puppet-maker, illustrator, and animator Ji?í Trnka, before his producer William L. Snyder pulled a fast one to profit from the faltering production.
