The Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ, along with pinup girls and anatomical models amongst others, get a tattooed makeover in Ramon Maiden's illustrations. A self-taught artist, Maiden is interested in history, ancient religions, and politics and his art is imbued with that. In his own words, "I like to shake consciences and give some thought." Maiden, a self-styled 'dandy delinquent', is based in Barcelona, Spain.

Jesse Fillingham's Alternate Dimension

Jesse Fillingham's paintings portray a separate dimension in which the transcendental reigns supreme, a cosmic playground occupied by strange mystics contemplating existence. Fillingham is a Los Angeles based artist and a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He is one of the founders of Never Press, a small publishing company specializing in high quality zines, books, and prints. Jesse has also designed deck graphics for Toy Machine Skateboard Co.

'Electripus' by Emme

Mexican artist Emme creates a tentacular spectacle in this series entitled 'Electripus.' Skulls, narwhals, women, and of course octopi fuse together as strange hybrids in a palette of beautiful soft pastels. Emme is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Juarez, Mexico.

Andrey Svetov's tattoos have a sexy, subversive traditional feel, using the imagery of witch symbols and ancient runes to amplify his rich repertoire. A master tattoo artist from Kaliningrad, Russia, Svetov is an artist whose needlework is absolutely stunning and you can bet it's hard to get a session wiith this tattooist. Take inspiration from these beatiful and painstakingly detailed blackwork tattoos.

The Art of Richie Pope

Richie Pope's illustrations intertwine reality with a fractal, imaginary world with blurred edges and soft flushes of light. Pope's visuals are sensitive and thoughtful, expressing a delicate sensibility through crushed chalk and smears of paint. Pope grew up in Newport News VA and played outside in neighborhoods of odd characters, patchy grass, abandoned lots and forgotten alleyways. This feeling of wandering thoughtfulness shows through strong in his work. 

The Beast Brothers

The Beast Brothers infuse their work with influences from Aztec and Mayan art as well as Day of the Dead Calaveras and contemporary street fashion. This pair of twins has created memorable works for Nike, Kidroot, Reebok, Coachella, Bacardi and Vans. They have also travelled the world teaching customizing techniques to fans and aspiring toy designers. Carlos and Ernesto East continue to produce paintings, illustrations and sculptures in Mexico City, Miami and New York.

These mysterious, enchanting landscapes are endlessly pleasing to look at, with a sophisticated aesthetic and and endlessly riveting imagination. We hope to see more from her soon.
