We have been following the progress of LEE's mural at MOCA's Art In the Streets all weekend, and yesterday evening finally took a few shots of the beautiful progress that he has been in making. LEE, our April 2011 subscriber cover artist and featured in the magazine, has been painting the large facade outside of the Geffen with PUSH and RISK, at least when we took these pictures.
According to the LA Times, Cern One and Futura 2000 of New York; Sano, Risk and Push from L.A.; and Loomit from Munich, Germany are all contributing. Seems about right. The theme is, of course, “the founding of America and the founding of our movement." Street art that is.
We wonder if the MOCA will keep the mural as a permanent piece? It definitely, when finished, will have a timeless quality to it.
