Located in the Atacama Desert in Chile, El Mano del Desierto is a large-scale sculpture of a hand constructed in the early ‘90s by the Chilean sculptor, Mario Irarrazebal. The artist made the sculpture predominantly from stone and used the hand on the isolated desert plateau to express emotions like injustice, loneliness, sorrow and torture.
